About Us.How our business has evolved.
In 2015 we started our hospitality business in The Coffee Rush, just diagonally across the road from The Clifford Arms. The business very quickly outgrew the premises and in June 2017 it was relocated to our current premises at The Clifford. We have retained all that is best about the Coffee Rush, Speciality Teas, Freshly ground coffee, Homemade Scones and Biscuits .
We offer light lunches Wednesday to Saturday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings we offer a full menu and Sunday lunch we offer a full menu as well as a Sunday roast.
We are also continuing the tradition at The Clifford of a weekly jazz!

Meet The Team.Get to know us.
The Team is headed up by our Operations Director, ably supported by our Head Chef. Without exception, all are young, energetic and experienced in their roles. With a passion for the finest that hospitality can offer, they bring a wealth of talent to The Clifford.

Dominic De Suys.Operations Director.
Dominic de Suys, has a Master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
His career started at the two Michelin starred Sharrow Bay Hotel in the Lake District. Locally he has held appointments at Burgh Island, Southernhay House and Magdalen Chapter Hotel in Exeter.
While seeking his first hospitality business venture, he managed Cafe Ode at Ness Cove in Shaldon. This led him to the belief that Shaldon was the place in which he would like to own a hospitality business.
In March 2015 the Coffee Rush was purchased and in the last two and a half years he drove the business forward to the inevitable need for larger premises.
Now, newly established in The Clifford, located just across the road from the old Coffee Rush, he is looking forward to the challenge of a new model, combining the best of the Coffee Rush and the Clifford.
